The 2013 AGM Event Site

Maryborough Park Showgrounds is a fully fenced site covering 105.5 hectares or about 260 acres in total. It is a reserve for showgrounds and recreation managed by the Fraser Coast Regional Council. Established in 1989, the site boasts numerous high standard, purpose-built facilities throughout the grounds. 50 hectares is dedicated to exhibition halls, buildings and open areas, with considerable infrastructure including a sealed road network, excellent lighting, enclosed and under-cover arenas, grandstands, canteens, bars and offices. More information and site photos are available at

With the Fraser Coast Showground at Maryborough being such a massive and permanently established facility, the AGM Event will feature many benefits rarely available to Ulysses members. Two examples of this are check-in on site when members arrive, and on site assembly for the Grand Parade.

The PiazzaThe venue includes a huge undercover arena measuring 70m x 40m. This “Piazza” area will be the hub of activities throughout the week. With table seating for 1200 members, it will feature a stage with entertainment each afternoon and evening. A bar and food vendors will line the perimeter. Each afternoon a "happy hour" will be conducted with reduced drink prices and free give-aways. A fashion parade hosted by Neds Motorcycle Wear is also planned. There will be "big screens" which will keep members updated with information on activities.

The venue occupies over 200 acres, all fully fenced. Due to the distance from the nearly 2000 camping sites to the entertainment / traders area, an internal bus service is being provided free by the Hervey Bay RSL for the convenience of our members.

We intend to ensure that a full range of foods is available from on-site vendors. There will be more choices than days of the week, so the food won't be boring. One such vendor will be local business "Hearty Foods" who specialise in basic healthy meals. They will be serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with scones for afternoon tea included for good measure!

An on-site Supermarket has been arranged through Maryborough Super IGA, and a dedicated tyre fitting service will be operated by Maryborough Motorcycles. The tyre of your choice can be pre-ordered so that it is waiting when you arrive, and will be fitted on site at the venue. Alternatively, they will have Dunlop tyres available for those unplanned tyre needs. We’re working with Maryborough Motorcycles to get the tyre pre-booking service operating within the next few months.

Our local newspaper, the Fraser Coast Chronicle is setting up a media centre for the Editor to operate on-site throughout the week and members’ internet access will also be available. Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island has offered to sponsor this facility.
